Note: All Beginner Programs are 2 hours, students will be given a 20 minute break half way into the class.  Students may bring snacks (We suggest snacks that are maintenance free as we require clean workstations at all times).  Please note that we maintain a peanut free environment.

Beginner Short Story Book

In this program students will write their own short story and design their own book.  Whether you are watching TV, reading a story or playing a video game, the story line is most important.  It must be accompanied by captivating visuals.  This project will engage the student’s visual, verbal and interpretive design skills.



 Beginner Fine Art

Students will be introduced to a variety of fine art mediums.  They will begin with techniques and skills.  Then they will put them into practice through fun and exciting projects.  Students will complete creative pieces of art work, inspired by what they have learned.  They will begin a portfolio and incorporate these pieces.



 Beginner Mixed Media

Students will be introduced to a variety of mediums, such as: marker, collage, pencil crayon, paper, plastics and pastel.  They will develop basic understanding of each medium, become familiar with their use and then discover unique ways to combine them together.  This program will exercise both their skills and creative talents to compose one-of-a-kind pieces of art.  These projects will be a great addition to their new portfolios.



 Beginner Sewing

Learning the fundamentals of sewing at such a young age sparks creative development in the mind.  It is a useful skill that will exercise and increase cognitive development in children.  They will learn creativity, problem solving, fine motor skills, precision, multi-tasking and coordination.  This program will provide students with projects that will introduce all the basic concepts, skills and techniques to sew.  They will become familiar with the tools and their function and grow confidence to use them correctly.



 Beginner Fashion Arts

For young fashionistas.  This is an introduction to fashion design.  Students will learn the basics of: fashion croquis and figure forms, style, design, proportion and fabrics.  Fashion design is a result of creative development and a good eye for style and detail.  This program will provide students the opportunity to design their own fashion collections, brand and advertisement for their favourite magazine.   Students are encouraged to express their creativity, personal style and fashion sense.
