Intermediate Technical Arts

Technical arts include hand drawn renderings as well as design through the use of technology.  It is important that students begin all their designs by hand first.  Projects will include the development of a concept for a TV show or video game.  Students are required to develop a brand, story line, character renderings and advertisements.

 

 

Intermediate Storytelling, Boarding & Scripting

Students will develop a script for a short story and develop it into a series of storyboards.  They will learn the skill of writing and animating caricatures from theory to practical.  For students aspiring to continue their education in film and/or animation, this program will provide the fundamentals required.  This program is an impressive addition to your portfolio.

 

 

Intermediate Video Production & Digital Editing-Adobe Premier & Encore

This program explores the making of trailers, commercials and short films.  Students will learn the basics of the Adobe Premier and Encore programs while working on their projects.  By the end of the term, they will have created a DVD of all their projects including digital editing.

 

 

 Intermediate Gaming

Students will learn the history of gaming.  The program will take students on an adventure to explore screenwriting for video games, storyboard development, narration and dialog.  Gaming is an interactive media, it is very different from cinema and the structure and outcome present countless possibilities.

 

 

 Intermediate Fundamentals of Photography

Students will learn the fundamentals of photography.  Projects will focus on the aesthetics, such as: what to look for, how a photograph works, the elements and principles of design and light exposure.  Projects will include the work of professional photographers as well as photographs taken by the students.  This program requires that students bring their own digital camera.

 

 

 Intermediate Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is one of the most widely used design programs within the industry.  Learning this program alone can open a world of opportunity and career choices.  It highly advised to learn this program from a professional.  Students will develop basic skills, uses and functionality for Photoshop.  They can include these skills into all their projects at Façade and toward their portfolios.

 

 

 Intermediate Adobe Illustrator

Illustrator is a vector based program which allows you to draw vector items. Vector is math based and will allow you more freedom if you are going to create something that will need to be various sizes without getting pixilated.  Students will learn the basic skills, uses and functionality for Illustrator.  They can include these skills into all their projects at Façade and toward their portfolios.

 

 

Intermediate Make-Up Applications

Students will receive an overview of the fundamental techniques they will require for self application and industry work.  Classes range from basic application and theory, to special effects. After completing this program students will have knowledge, understanding and experience working in a variety of styles.  At the end of the term students will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in a photo shoot.  Make-Up Kit Recommended!

 

 

Intermediate Fine Art

This program will focus on the works of famous fine artists from our past.  Students will be instructed on the techniques used by their choice of artist.  They will practice these techniques and brainstorm project ideas influenced by their artist.  They will compose a small collection of art pieces that demonstrate different ideas using the same technique.

 

 

 Intermediate Mixed Media & Creative Development

Creativity comes through experimentation of many mediums.  The more experience one has, the more knowledge and confidence they carry to create pieces of their own.  This program focuses on creative development using a variety of mediums.  Students will present an eclectic collection that incorporates different mediums but work together to present one idea.

 

 

Intermediate Sewing Casual Wear

This program will provide students with instruction and experience constructing casual garments.  Students can choose from a selection of garments that they can alter to their preference and style interests.  They will learn the process, skills and techniques required to perfect and create beautifully crafted pieces.  Emphasis will be placed on precision, choice and care of fabric, as well as making simple fit and pattern alterations.  Highly recommended for students with hobby interests, professional development or portfolio preparation requirements.

 

 

Intermediate Sewing Formal Wear

Intermediate Fashion Illustration

Fashion Illustration is the creative interpretation of fashion design.  Not only do designers develop ideas for incredible masterpieces, they also learn to stylize them for story boards, design presentations and magazine ads.  Students who aspire to become designers or fashion media illustrators are recommended to enrol in our fashion illustration program.  It includes creative development concepts for: layouts, design presentations, fashion editorials, colour theory, brand identity and stylization.

 

 

Intermediate Fashion Design

Fashion design is a respectable art form.  It requires imagination, creativity, understanding fabrics, figures and silhouettes, colour theory, trends and image.  Fashion designers need to take all of this into consideration when they create their collections.  Students will learn the precision of design and proportion, creativity through use of colour, fabrics and style for purpose and functionality.  They will design and present their collections professionally in technical form by industry standards.
