Toddler Art-Creative Play!

Toddlers love activities like finger-painting, pasting, colouring pictures, and folding or ripping paper. These activities might be a bit messy, but they have immense value. They help toddlers by: stimulating their visual senses, exercising their minds, getting used to new textures, such as the feeling of finger paint.   It also helps them to develop all kinds of fine motor skills, as they use their fingers, feet and so on. The end result is not important; rather it is the exploration of their creative impulses and self-expression. This program is offered to toddlers up to 2 years old. Toddlers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Kinder Art Drawing Fundamentals

Drawing is one of the most important activities a child can do. Drawing not only provides the basis for other creative activities – like painting, sculpture and printmaking – but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. The connection between drawing, geometric shapes and measurements simply cannot be denied. Students will exercise concepts of lines, shapes and interpretation. Ages 2-5. Children must be potty-trained to take this program.

Kinder Art Colouring Fundamentals

Learning colours is an essential part of human interaction and interpretation within their environment.  From a young age children are visually attracted to colours.  Many of them can already identify their favourites and begin personalizing their choices influenced by these colour preferences.  Colours represent feelings and identity.  Through songs, stories, art activities and colour flashcards, students will find them fun to remember and recognize colour words well. Ages 2-5. Children must be potty-trained to take this program.

Kinder Art Painting Fundamentals

Painting explores a whole world of colour and communication for children.  It provides them with a release of emotion. It is important to allow children the freedom to express their own creativity, without having any expectations. There are many different techniques to painting.   Children must experiment with these materials and tools early on in order to develop a comfort and confidence with them.  Through a series of fun painting exercises, students will develop their creativity and self-expression, while learning to interpret and communicate what they see.  Ages 2-5.  Children must be potty-trained to take this program.
