My name is Melissa Sorbara and I am 16 years old. I have been doing art since I was a little girl. I always used to draw little outfits on lined paper and I would always say one day I want to be a Fashion Designer. Most children change their career choice a few times, but I didn’t.

I have been taking art classes since I was about ten years old and I love it. I have been taking private lessons with Mina Spremulli at Façade Academy for three years. During that time we have covered so much. We started with art classes and we did my portfolio that helped me get accepted into the St. Elizabeth Regional Arts Program. I also composed an art piece for auction at the Starlight Children’s Foundation annual gala and won a scholarship award for best piece. I am currently preparing my portfolio application for university. I hope to get accepted into a Fashion Design program and from there I hope to travel and gain a lot of work experience to open up my own company as a designer for evening wear.
